In the configuration input area, there are separate dropdowns for "number of processors" and "number of cores per processor", but the summary Hardware just shows a label of "Processors". To be clear, set "number of processors" to 1, and "Number of cores per processor" to whatever you decide to allocate.
Your 6-core i7 with 48 GB of RAMdoesn't scan. The i7's only handle up to 32GB, and they only have 4 cores (and if you reported "logical cores" or threads, it would be 8). Are you sure you don't have a Xeon product of some kind?
Are you running more than one of these programs at the same time, or just one or another? If the latter, you can give them the lion's share of the machine capability.
What operating system are you using? There might be better sandbox solutions for your specific problem.
May I suggest you review your hardware information. I can buy a 6 core i7-5820K or i7-5930k Haswell. Why do you believe the i7 is limited to 32 GB? Please see the following motherboards as an example ASUS P9X79 or Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5
